The world’s inaugural Nuclear Energy Summit is scheduled in Brussels in March 2024.

This historic event, jointly hosted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Belgium, aims to emphasize the pivotal role of nuclear energy in addressing global challenges related to reducing fossil fuel usage, enhancing energy security, and stimulating economic development.   • The Summit is a direct outcome of the IAEA’s Atoms4NetZero initiative.

  • It brings together leaders worldwide to deliberate on the significance of nuclear energy.

  • The focus is on achieving sustainable energy goals while mitigating climate change.


2. Dates and Co-Chairs:

  • The Summit is scheduled for March 21-22, 2024.

  • IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo will co-chair the event.

  • Approximately 30 countries are expected to participate.

  • Industry leaders, experts, and representatives from civil society will also attend.

  • The Summit will feature:
