Course Description
Accelerate your journey to nuclear readiness
Every nuclear employer provides site and company inductions, but professionals new to the sector often need months to fully understand how nuclear environments operate; from safety culture and stakeholder structures to approval processes and ways of working. This course bridges that gap and acts like an induction accelerator.
Delivered by SQEP professionals
Fully tutor-led by Suitably Qualified and Experienced (SQEP) nuclear professionals with real industry experience. You are learning from people who have worked in the sector, not just studied it.
Complete industry overview
From the regulatory framework and safety culture to project management fundamentals, supply chain operations and nuclear professionalism. Everything a new entrant needs to understand how the industry thinks and operates.
Built for employers
A programme ideal for onboarding new starters, graduates and supply chain staff into nuclear environments. Bespoke in-house delivery is available for organisations looking to bring multiple cohorts through together.
Rapid 'nuclearisation'
Participants leave with a working knowledge of the industry, an understanding of key stakeholders, an awareness of nuclear professionalism, and a grounding in safety cases, approval routes and information management that can otherwise take months of experience to develop.
Certificate of completion
All participants receive a certificate that can be used to evidence nuclear induction training to employers and site operators. A straightforward way to demonstrate readiness before arriving on site.
Essential for Nuclear Site Readiness
For many roles in the UK nuclear sector, a nuclear induction course is a standard requirement before starting work on site. While not defined as a single statutory certificate, it supports employer duties around safety, competence and site-specific compliance, and is commonly required as part of onboarding for personnel entering regulated nuclear environments. Whether you are a contractor, site visitor or new employee, completing a recognised nuclear induction is often the first step toward gaining the access and confidence to operate effectively in a nuclear site.
Who Is This For?
Professionals transitioning into the nuclear industry from sectors such as rail, oil and gas, defence or construction. Graduates and early-career individuals entering nuclear roles. Contractors and supply chain staff preparing to work on nuclear projects. Employers looking to accelerate the effectiveness of new-to-nuclear hires.
If you are new to nuclear, this course shortens the time it takes to become productive, confident and aligned with industry expectations.
What You'll Gain
A clear understanding of how the UK nuclear industry is structured and operates
Insight into key stakeholders, roles and how decisions are made
An appreciation of nuclear safety culture and what good looks like in practice
A working awareness of safety cases, approval routes and information management
An understanding of nuclear professionalism and behavioural expectations
Context around project delivery and supply chain dynamics in nuclear environments
Most importantly, you will gain the confidence and awareness that typically takes months on-the-job to develop.
Time to Productivity
Professionals with prior nuclear experience can integrate into new roles quickly.
Those new to the sector often cannot, not due to lack of ability, but lack of context. We reduce the additional time for a ‘new-to-nuclear’ candidate to be ‘nuclear ready’ from “months” to “weeks”
This course removes that barrier. It enables individuals to add value earlier, integrate faster into project teams, reduce onboarding friction for employers and avoid common early-stage mistakes.
In short, it helps you think, communicate and operate like a nuclear professional compressing 3-6 months of nuclear acclimatisation into a few weeks.
