Where to Find Australian Nuclear Jobs
Start with official employer career pages and the occupation you want to do. This Australian pilot is a directory of starting points, not a live vacancy board. Application windows and eligibility change; the current advertisement is the source of truth.
ANSTO: science, engineering and supporting roles
ANSTO's work spans nuclear science and technology, including research and applications in health and industry. Its early career pages describe graduate, apprenticeship and student routes. Search beyond the word nuclear: a relevant position may be advertised under your engineering, scientific, technical or business discipline.
Submarine and defence pathways
The Australian Submarine Agency careers page explains workforce pathways across the ADF, public service and industry. Use it to understand the landscape, then follow the named employer's current vacancies. Programme ambitions and future workforce projections are not promises of a job today.
ASC publishes apprenticeships, traineeships and engineering and corporate early career routes. Check the actual programme and duties: a submarine-sector position is not automatically work on nuclear propulsion. Location, intakes and entry requirements vary.
Radiation protection and nuclear safety
ARPANSA's careers page is a starting point for roles connected with radiation protection, research, regulation and public health. The Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Regulator also publishes career information. Read the application pack carefully rather than assuming regulator roles all require the same degree or experience.
Build a repeatable search
Search by occupation, location and career level. Keep a simple tracker with employer, job title, closing date, essential requirements and next action. Use job alerts where available. If a programme is closed, record the official page and monitor the next intake instead of treating an old article as an open application.
Check before you apply
Confirm that the advert is current and that you understand qualifications, work rights, citizenship and any clearance requirements. Apply through the official process. Be wary of anyone offering a guaranteed placement in exchange for buying a general course.
