Job Description: The Project Planner is the ‘organiser’ of a project or projects. The Planner sets out, monitors, maintains and updates the project plan/programme in coordination with all stakeholders of the project. The Planner provides information to the Project Management and DesignManagement teams on project progress to both critical path and project milestones. The Planner works closely with the Project Services team in monitoring programme KPI’s e.g. Earned Value.
Ideally you will have the following skills, experience and attributes…
Minimum HND or equivalent level of qualification is required. Preferably degree qualified in technical/engineering or project management discipline
PC literate in Microsoft Office suite
Knowledge of using Project Planning software (Primavera) is required
SC level security clearance is preferred though not essential
Demonstrable competence gained in a planning/scheduling role
Ideally, a depth of experience will have been gained within a construction industry incorporating at least either civil, electrical or mechanical engineering disciplines
Experience of working within a project delivery environment is essential
Full knowledge of the Project Lifecycle is essential
Demonstrate a calm and methodical approach to working to deadlines
Excellent organisation mindset. Has ability and confidence in organising many intangibles concurrently
Ideally will have cost control experience
Thorough, analytical, seeks detail in areas of conflict/disagreement or uncertainty
Provide guidance and support to less senior Planners
Needs little direction from the Project Manager
Proactively seeks out information from the Project team and other stakeholders to inform the programme
Good communication skills. Need to clearly explain to many different stakeholder using facts and detail
Enjoys dealing with several different task, people, objectives at the same time
