Get Into Nuclear
This is an excellent opportunity for Planning Engineer with experience in nuclear or a regulated industry.
The job specification is quite generic, with it being key that the candidate must be a SQEP (Suitably Qualified Experienced Person) planning engineer, specifically around Primavera P6, and be able to manage a team of six people.
Let's look at the six steps to get into nuclear:
#1 Know who you are: you are, or have been a planning engineer with experience in nuclear or a regulated industry. You pride yourself on driving high standards and expectations when leading a team.
#2 Know what you want: You are willing and able to work in Risley or Wolverhampton (with some travel between the two sites) and are looking for the opportunity of a role in which you are thoroughly familiar with whilst being given a chance to bring this experience and your transferable skills to a range of fascinating projects.
#3 Know the Business: it will be advantageous to know about the UK nuclear industry. The role of Senior Planning Engineer itself isn't specific to the nuclear industry, so there is an opportunity to transfer skills from other industries into this role. Westlakes Recruit are a significant player in nuclear, so they will be able to guide you here if you are looking to sector jump.
#4 Know the Skills: as you can see, the roles are pretty generic from a planning perspective which is understandable as they are looking for someone to lead a team. Again, experience within the nuclear or a regulated sector is essential, and it is always worth considering that you need to meet the vetting requirements as a minimum.
#5 Know the people: we at Get Into Nuclear are here to help you every step of the way and there are numerous resources out there to support you in finding a role in the UK Nuclear Industry. However, this role is being recruited by Westlakes Recruit, who are recommended by us as a nuclear recruitment business to trust, you are in good hands.
#6 Be known: if you feel that you are ready for the particular role, go for it!
