Job Description There is an urgent requirement for a Document Controller to be based in Aztec West. Role Profile
Provide a Document Control service to allocated projects
Manage project documentation from creation to retention and on into archiving
Maintain a document management system, manually or electronic
Register and action project documentation
Maintain document history and authentication (versions & revisions)
Control the issue and distribution of project documentation
Ensure all documentation transmitted is recorded and traceable
Ensure all documentation is correctly authorised and accepted
Maintain a controlled and secure storage location for project documentation
Conduct a check on all project documentation to ensure the standards are met
Handle documentation in line with project security and document security classifications
Carry out required Project Document Reporting
Correct handling of Document Control department and Project Templates
Assist in Internal audits as required
Handover of Documentation, Retention and Archiving
Photocopying, Scanning and departmental Administration
Get Into Nuclear This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is has experience of working with the allocation, storage and management of documentation in an office environment. Looking at this opportunity by applying the Get Into Nuclear six step process to finding your route to get into nuclear would look something like this: #1 Know who you are: you have experience of working within an office environment and working to, managing and implementation a document management system. Additionally it would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the security classifications used within the UK Nuclear Industry and the guidance on hows these should be handled. Also it is important that you can meet the Vetting Requirements. #2 Know what you want: you are looking for a new challenge and either live local to, happy to commute to or happy to re-locate to the Bristol area. The role is advertised as a 12 months placement on a contract basis so flexibility is a must. #3 Know the Business: there is a continued need to document control support in the UK Nuclear Industry. The information that is in existence and being created is a varying levels of security classification and understandably so must be treated and secured in a controlled manner. Although this is a temporary role there will be a need to document control on all upcoming projects in the coming years. #4Know the Skills: You would need to meet the Vetting Requirements to fulfil the role. Strong time management skills, a working knowledge of MS office applications and excellent communication skills are all important. No specific software experience is mentioned but an understanding of EDMS will help immensely.
