Job Description

  • Maintaining the Company's Integrated Management System (IMS) relating to commercial activity and ensuring alignment to meet regulators requirements.

  • Planning, execution and reporting of internal audits of the IMS and liaison with customer and host/third party auditors, as required.

  • Reporting on the performance of the IMS, providing recommendations for improvement and holding periodic reviews with the Head of Commercial.

  • Acting as focal point for transaction and investment approval processes

  • Conducting audit activities of the Company's commercial activities, logging and tracking non-conformances and their resolution.

  • Communication of customer requirements, including specific QA requirements, throughout the Company.

  • Assisting with the maintenance of commercial procedures and coaching members of the Company's customer-facing staff in good practice in maintenance and revision of same.

  • Recording and timely investigation of customer complaints, and ensuring close out of corrective actions.

  • Working with operating staff to establish procedures, standards, systems and procedures and to determine training needs.

  • Acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance/quality.

  • Supporting the development of suitable training programmes for employees, including the commercial induction processes.

The Successful Applicant

  • Be qualified with a Bachelor degree

  • Have experience as either a Quality Assurance Manager in a regulated industry (e.g. Nuclear, Aerospace) or a Commercial Manager or Officer in similar industries

  • Be capable of achieving UK SC clearance

  • Have strong attention to detail and an analytical approach to problem solving

  • Have the ability to coach and lead others

  • Have basic commercial and financial literacy

  • Have strong communication skills with a persuasive and persistent manner

The recruitment company are being a little vague here on the roles, the company and the industry but this opportunity caught our eye for someone looking to get into nuclear from a commercial / quality assurance / regulated background. Looking at this opportunity by applying the Get Into Nuclear six step process your route to get into nuclear would look something like this:

  1. Know who you are: you are a graduate who has been working within a regulated industry within a commercial environment where stringent quality assurance requirements are the norm.

  2. Know what you what: a step up or across into a new role hopefully catching yourself a pay rise at the same time.

  3. Know the Business: more and more nuclear companies are looking for resources to provide commercial and legal support. This role, although not 100% nuclear, has the added requirements of having worked in a Quality Assurance Role previously. This role is quite specific and a niche role if you can position yourself to take it.

  8. Strong awareness of commercial matters, activities and procedures within a business

  9. Ability to work with, motivate and manage others

  10. Ability to achieve SC status within the vetting requirements.
