About the employer:

We are currently recruiting for a talented, motivated and ambitious quality engineer to join our the Morgan Sindall team based in Swynnerton.

About the role:

As a quality engineer, you will ensure that a consistently high standard of quality control and supervision is maintained on the contract, through site visits and assessing contract implementation. You will also identify technical problems and recommend corrective action where required.

About the person:

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to ensure supplier quality arrangements are reviewed and approved in accordance with project requirements.

Already experienced as a quality engineer, you will carry out risk assessments prior to inspection activity taking place and provide feedback on performance of contractors/consultants to contribute to an approved list database.

The successful applicant will have excellent knowledge of the construction industry including materials, trades and legal requirements.

This is a great opportunity for anyone with the experience of working within QHSE within the construction industry.

The job specification is very generic outlined as covering the Nuclear, Energy and Water sector. It is key that the candidate must have Quality experience and background working within Civils and have excellent knowledge of the construction Industry.

Okay; so let's look at the six steps to get into nuclear:

#1 Know who you are: you are or have been a quality engineer in the construction industry with experience of undertaking risk assessments and inspections. You pride yourself on driving high standards and exceptions from within a project team.

#2 Know what you want: You are willing and able to work in the West Midlands and are looking for the opportunity of a role in which you are fully familiar with and and expert in whilst being given the chance to bring this experience and your transferrable skills to another industry.

#3 Know the Business: this is quite a specific role but one that isn't specific to the nuclear industry so there are definitely opportunity to transfer skills from other industries into this role.

#4 Know the Skills: as you can see none of the highlight requirements to land this role are highlighted as nuclear specific. Previous experience in the UK Nuclear Industry is not a pre-requisite or barrier to entry for this role.

It is always worth considering that you need to meet the vetting requirements as a minimum.
