Senior Manager Delivery (Security and Resilience)

Be part of it:

As senior manager delivery your role will be to provide support to the security and resilience function in accordance with nuclear industry security regulations, civil nuclear security standards and security policy framework.  The job holder will be responsible for ensuring that the site maintains compliance with these regulations and other business requirements.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead Dounreay security and resilience staff as a senior manager

  • Ensure that physical, personnel, operational and project security standards are met in accordance with business and regulatory requirements and as required by Office of Nuclear Regulation (ONR)

  • Manage the production of the site security plan, counter-terrorist contingency plan, transport security statement and security report in accordance with business and regulatory requirements

  • Develop and implement a programme of security and resilience arrangements required to ensure compliant with Dounreay business and regulatory requirements

  • Ensure that regulatory actions, as assigned, are closed

  • Maintain internal and external stakeholder and regulator relations

  • Maintain annual site funding limit for area of responsibility taking into account analysis of dependencies and constraints, scope, risks and assumptions

  • Provide advice, training and guidance on security matters

  • Conduct and support investigations and ONR (CNS) interventions as required

  • Participate in and support all Dounreay site the responsibilities of management appointments relevant to the post including duty security advisor

  • Be appointed to RWA corporate body

Desirable Aptitudes and Experience

  • Qualified to degree level in science/engineering/business or equivalent plus experience

  • Minimum of 5 years security/delivery experience with a preference for experience in critical national infrastructure

  • Member of the Nuclear InstituteProven multidisciplinary project management skills

  • Demonstrable ability to convey complex issues in a clear manner in the written and spoken word

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

  • Self-motivated and assertive and willing to challenge

  • Ability to work across a diverse stakeholder group in a constructive and collaborative manner and manage sensitive stakeholder relationships

  • Experience of leading a team, coaching and developing others

  • The ability to work under pressure to time deadlines whilst maintaining quality of output

  • Sound knowledge and understanding in the following areas:

  • nuclear industry security regulations

  • NORMS and the proposed ONR security assessment principles

  • counter terrorist contingency planningtransport security

  • operational requirements

Additional information

On call requirement:  The successful candidate will be expected to join the Security & Resilience Directorate on call roster as a condition of employment.  This is expected to involve a commitment to be on call for a maximum of 7 consecutive days in any calendar month.

The successful candidate will be required to hold Developed Vetting security clearance or be prepared to undergo security vetting to attain this level.

Salary:  £61,106 to £84,159
