The most traditional one is to leave school, work as part of an HSE team, for six years before moving into a management position becoming charted professionally in parallel.
Steps to become one
Step One: Gain an academic education.
Depending upon your choice in Step Two, you can decide to pursue a career from Year 11, upon leaving College, or upon Graduating and beyond. Ideally, your subject will be around STEM subjects, such as maths, science, engineering etc.
Step Two: Choose your route into nuclear.
There are many options for you to start your career in nuclear. For example, you can join an apprenticeship straight out of school. In addition, you can join one of the many graduate programmes available or gain experience elsewhere and look to enter the industry as a sector jumper.
