About the Course
The Triple Bar Nuclear Manufacturing (TBNM) is a ‘three bar’ training course delivered at different locations and dates according to demand. The course can also be delivered at your premises if demand requires. The Triple Bar for Nuclear Manufacturing (TBNM) provides individuals working in the manufacturing sector a sound understanding of what differentiates nuclear from other industries. Course Overview The training is aimed at a foundation level of knowledge, and all participants are required to undergo the TBNM end test to ensure that they understand the industry’s requirements in terms of compliance and the consequences of not performing in the right way. The TBNM course comprises of three 'bars':
Bar One: Basic Nuclear Awareness
Know about radiation and contamination for safe working in the nuclear industry.
Know what are the component parts of a nuclear power station.
Know about the history of nuclear, the lesson learnt for future safe operation and how nuclear energy is produced and used.
Know about the importance of nuclear safety culture and the need for compliance within the nuclear manufacturing industry.
Bar Two: Basic nuclear quality
Know about the quality requirements for nuclear manufacturing.
Know about the importance of design specifications and documentation within nuclear manufacturing.
Know what the consequences of poor quality/failed components could be to plant, public and environment.
Bar Three: Basic nuclear behaviours
Understand the importance of safe behaviours and safety culture.
Understand Human Performance tools and techniques for the prevention of error.
Understand what workplace observation is and why it is carried out.
Understand the importance of event and near-miss reporting and the application of learning from experience.
Who should do this course? It is ideal for new entrants to the sector, as well as long-standing employees who have had little or no prior nuclear awareness training. The course is suitable for anyone working at all levels in the manufacturing supply chain, particularly those involved in product design, manufacture, inspection and testing, sales, procurement and project management
Online Delivery This is a 2-day course. Timings are typically: Day 1 - 9am start, finish at 5pm. Day 2 - 9am start, finish at 5pm.
