Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are seeking to recruit a permanent staff Senior Mechanical Designer based in our offices in Bamber Bridge Preston. Projects will be various but primarily Nuclear or similarly highly regulated industry sector.
As our Senior Mechanical Designer you will be able comfortable contributing to HAZOP Review, contributing to Assurance Reviews and engaging specialist mechanical handling contractors.
You will be dealing with the production of Mechanical design deliverables eg. Mechanical Flow Diagrams, Block Flow Diagrams, General Arrangement Drawings, Design Proposal Drawings, Sub Assembly and Detail Drawings, production of 3D models of Plant & Equipment, production of drawings from 3D models, input to estimate packs for all of the above in line with procurement strategy, undertake plant surveys, interpret plant survey data and production of Technical Note for Records. The nature of the role may require a willingness to undertake day visits and short to medium term placements in clients’ premises
As our Senior Mechanical Designer you’ll have significant experience in the delivery of mechanical engineering projects including Mechanical Handling and Special Purpose Machinery and of course you’ll have excellent drawing skills both presentation and content
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
